Nagaur (also Nagor and Nagore) is a city and municipal council in Nagaur district of the state of Rajasthan in India. It is the administrative headquarters of Nagaur District. The Nagaur city lies about midway between Jodhpur and Bikaner.
Nagaur is famous for spices and sweets (mithai). Nagaur have huge mineral resources.
Nagaur also has a temple of Maheshwari community Kuldevi in the name of Deresiya Mata Mandir and the very famous Banshiwala Mandir in the heart of city.
Nagaur lies approximately midway between Jodhpur and Bikaner.
Nagaur has a dry climate with a hot summer. Sand storms are common in summer. The district's climate is marked by extreme dryness, large variations of temperature & highly irregular rainfall patterns. The winter season extends from mid-November until the beginning of March. The rainy season is relatively short, extending from July through mid-September.
