Jamnagar () is a city located on the western coast of India in the state of Gujarat of Saurashtra region. It is the administrative headquarters of the Jamnagar district and the fifth largest city in Gujarat. The city lies just to the south of the Gulf of Kutch, some 337 kilometres (209 mi) west of the state capital, Gandhinagar.
India's largest private company, Reliance Industries, has established the world's largest oil refining and petrochemicals complex in Jamnagar district.The city was the capital of Nawanagar princely state during British Raj.The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Government of India signed an agreement to establish the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar. This global knowledge centre for traditional medicine, supported by an investment of USD 250 million from the Government of India, aims to harness the potential of traditional medicine from across the world through modern science and technology to improve the health of people and the planet.India's largest private company, Reliance Industries is developing world's largest zoo near by 28 kms from Jamnagar city. Luxury hotel chain Lemon Tree Hotels will open its new luxury hotel in Jamnagar in FY25. Jamnagar Municipal Corporation is planning to be develop riverfront on Rangmati – Nagmati river which cost of around 500 crore.
